I am extremely passionate about Home-based care and for me, it's about the quality of childcare for all preschoolers that drives me to offer parents the best option for their little ones. Their learning is individualized working within the needs of each child. Old school values of manners, sharing and caring for each other and the environment form part of their integrated learning. The various ages facilitates a "family" like place for them. When parents are already stressed about having to go to work they can be assured that their little ones are in an environment as close to home life as I can make possible, I have spaces available. Please PM, to discuss your little one's needs

My journey into education started in 2007 when I first began working at an ECE centre. Since then I have gained a Bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland and become a fully registered teacher. In 2016 I travelled to Italy to learn more about the Reggio Emilia approach which strongly inspires my work with children. My philosophy is also guided by Magda Gerber’s respectful approach and in 2015 I took part in the RIE foundations course to deepen my knowledge on respectful practice. These experiences have led me to believe that educating children in the home is best as it provides children with the peaceful and authentic environment that they need to grow and learn. The relationship I build with each child is the most important part of my work as within a trusting and supportive relationship, children can participate in quality learning experiences and truly thrive. My hope is that my home will be a special place to learn; where children feel loved, nurtured and respected.
I am currently at the University of Auckland, studying towards a Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Biology) and a Bachelor of Health Science (Population Health and Mental Health & Addiction). When I'm not studying I love to be around people and animals, travel and spend time at the beach. I also spend a lot of time tutoring high school students, or curled up somewhere with my nose in a good book. I have 2 first aid qualifications: a workplace first aid (basic first aid) certificate and a Pre-Hospital Emergency qualification. I also have basic food safety and communication and leadership qualifications. My first language is English, but I am also semi-fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
