Summary of Experience

I am a ECE teacher with over 16 years experience in childcare. I have completed a number of professional development courses including The incredible years program, Self regulation workshops and social emotional competency workshops (Behaviour management). I currently work Mon-Wed. So I am available for inhomecare care at my house from Thursday-Sunday. I am happy to share my professional learning portfolio with you too. Before teaching I worked in Aviation for 8 years while I did casual relief teaching. I have alot of experience with difficult situations and medical emergencies onboard the aircraft. I am particularly interested in gaining more experience with children that require extra support. I have worked in childcare centres as well as in-home environments. I have a variety of experience looking after people with varing conditions, including prem newborns, twins and children with special needs including epilepsy, Down syndrome, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Autism. I am confident at administrating medication and use positive guidance and distraction to divert negative behaviour. I hold a full drivers licence, a current certificate in CPR and First Aid. I am also police and security checked due to my job. I have experience in teaching learn to swim and can speak dutch fluently and have a basic understanding of Japanese.
