from Auckland
Kia ora! I'm an ex support worker with over four years of experience, specialising in disability support for children and young adults. I'm passionate about helping people develop and grow, according to their specific needs and goals. I have a current NZ first aid certificate, full clean license and a car. I have also completed a training course for support workers through Spectrum Care. During my time at Spectrum Care, I worked with people with disabilities including ASD, ADHD, GDD, OCD and epilepsy. Before that, I volunteered at Wairau Valley Special School. I consider my strengths to be my empathy, patience, creativity and enthusiasm. I amon the spectrum myself, which I believe helps me to be more understanding and in tune with neurodivergent experiences of the world. I am always engaged and present, and enjoy helping people to live life to the fullest. I am good at being a calming presence on emotional or difficult days, by listening, reasoning and problem solving as needed. I've helped many people with ASD through really difficult meltdowns. I am also fit and really enjoy outdoor activities. I'm happy to assist in any way that is needed. I will happily provide references on request. Please get in touch if you think I'd be a good fit!
