I am a 23 year old teaching graduate from Christchurch. I graduated with a primary school teaching degree from the University of Otago college of Education at the end of last year. I am available for work immediately and have a full drivers licence and safe, 4 door VW polo car. I have vast babysitting experience both of younger family members as well as being hired by several families for babysitting while I was in highschool. During my time at university I spent several months of each year as the main teacher of children in my classes- between the ages of 5 and 13. I have a passion for art and music and cooking and love to incorporate these passions into engaging activities with the children I am caring for. I am looking preferably for more full time hours with children of all ages, and am available to start immediately. I currently am based in Lyttelton during lock down but intend to move more centrally into Christchurch after lock down has finished.

Next to basic care and fulfilling your child’s needs, I can conduct individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interactions skills. But I also believe that caring for children is not a job you can just be taught through education. A big part of caring for children comes from the heart. Giving children the love and acknowledgement they deserve. My education only gave me tools to support children in their development and to further understand their development. I believe this can be very beneficial in childcare, but I also think it’s very important that a child gets to just be a child.
Hi, this is a bit backwards but I'm a mother of a lovely 2.5 year old and we are looking for another family to share the nanny we currently have with, and also provide a playmate for our son. Tuesday/Wednesday 9-3 at our place in Lyttelton. However our nanny could do a pick up/drop off from anywhere along the port hills.
Greetings! I have just arrived in the beautiful country of New Zealand after spending one amazing year in Australia traveling and working as a nanny for three beautiful families! I have a very strong background in dance, attended Texas Woman's University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education. Through my teaching in the public school system, I had the opportunity to work with several students of various ages and backgrounds (2-18 years old). Ultimately teaching is not only my profession, but also a strong passion. I've been extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work and travel another country alongside some wonderful children. During my time in Australia I worked with children ranging in age from 2-16. I have a Working Holiday Visa that is valid until May 31, 2017.
