I am a 19 year old student who studies commerce and tourism management looking for work in Karori, Wellington. I enjoy working with children and learning with them. I love baking and cooking as well as involving the children. I play social sports (netball, hockey, softball) and believe in fun participation for children. I speak basic French and have French friends if you are interested in your children having global interaction. I enjoy listening to music and I also play basic ukulele which I could teach the basics to children. I love reading and have been known to encourage reading by reading the same book as the child and engaging in exciting discussions and relevant activities. I do not have my full license but am confident with the Wellington Bus System. I do not currently hold a First Aid certificate but have in the past and have taken a child Safety and First Aid course through my hometown Parent Centre and St Johns.

I've generally worked with families with 2 or more children and have worked more with girls than boys, however when I have worked with boys we've learnt through science and math and played a lot of football. I've been babysitting casually but consistently since 2011 and have done day, evening and overnight babysitting. I help the children with homework, made meals, completed light house work, organised both entertaining and educational activities both indoors and outdoors and handle bedtimes etc. My mother is a high school science teacher and therefore many of the educational activities are home science and math-based, aimed to engage critical thinking and problem solving in a fun way. I am good at baking which is a hit with most children and am experienced with catering to gluten free diets. I encourage reading in children by reading the same book to engage with reading comprehension. I do half-day, full-day, evening and overnight babysitting.
