Current Auckland University of Technology student studying a Bachelor of Health Science in Paramedicine.
I have taught History for 9 years and have had considerable success at ensuring students attain Excellence in internal/external assesments. I have also tutored students for Scholarship over the past 7 years. I am currently on maternity leave throughout 2011, therefore I am fairly flexible about hours I can work. I am very passionate about History and my students tell me that I am very approachable. I am able to provide a variety of revision activities and resources for students. I have had experience at pushing highly academic students, but also those who are less academic students - including those who are unwilling to read copious amounts of text! I have created exemplars for the 'new' Level 1 History Curriculum so am very familiar with the new expectations of students - perhaps more so than their own History teacher may be! NOTE: At Level 3 I only teach Tudor-Stuart England, NOT New Zealand 20th century.
My name is Emily White and I am in year 13 at Diocesan School for Girls. I have been tutoring for the past 6 months and have really enjoyed it. I achieved NCEA level 1 and level 2 with excellence and am currently completing level 3.
